It’s time to get technical…

What are Technical nights?

Technical nights are designed around the technical component of the game. The purpose is individual player technical skill development. Each session will be broken into a theme with an emphasis on a certain area to create as many touches as possible in a 90 minute period. Themes include:

Dribbling: Ball manipulation, turning, shielding, speed and moves
Passing: Using both feet, varying distances, types (lofted, driven, bent)
Receiving: Both feet and different areas of the body (thigh, chest, head)
Shooting: Striking with both feet, (volleys, half-volleys)
Crossing: Both feet and different types (driven, lofted, near vs. far post)

Why are you doing them?

At Sporting Tampa Bay we are player centric and focused on the individual player development. By putting players first and focusing extensively on creating technically competent players through education and development, it allows them to build their self-esteem and creative abilities to accelerate the learning process.

Simply put… The more Technically competent a player is, the better overall player they become.
